Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 (NIV)

Sometimes I have to remind myself I don’t have to fear anymore. I do this by speaking the word of God over myself. I am in my Father’s hand, and no one can snatch me out of it (John 10:28).

When a child is in the dark, he’s easily spooked by shadows and sounds all around.  What does the child do? He calls for his parents. We can call to our heavenly Father. We are his children and he cares about us.

When we are frightened, we can turn to his word, and it will light the way (psalm 119:105).

There is no more need to fear, for my Father goes before me and behind me (Psalm 139:5). Even when I can’t see him, he’s right there, working on my behalf. I can trust him. I can believe what he says. He will show me which way to go. I am never truly alone.
